The Most Powerful Way to Heal ~ Ho'oponopono

Aloha Beautiful Souls 🌺

As I sit here enjoying and contemplating the changing of the seasons in North Carolina, I can't help but reflect on the profound lessons Nature teaches us about transformation. (more on my travels below.)

Just as the world outside shifts from one season to another, our lives also undergo continuous cycles of change. It's a reminder that transformation is not only natural but inevitable.

In my personal journey of self-discovery and growth, I've found that inner transformation often precedes external change. It's like tending to the soil before planting seeds; we must nurture our inner selves before seeing the blossoms of transformation in our outer world. This process of inner work is deeply intertwined with the Hawaiian practice of Ho'oponopono, which serves as a guiding light in resolving inner conflicts.

I am excited to report the transformation I am experiencing with my health while detoxing from heavy metals. My long bout with chronic fatigue is declining, and positive results are showing up in my blood work for my kidneys and blood sugar.

The practice of Ho'oponopono is part of my health journey recipe, along with spending time in Nature, exercising, meditating, chanting, eating nourishing foods, pranayama (an ancient breath technique that originates from yogic practices in India), and specific natural supplements. My daily mantra is "I get better every day. Every day, I love and accept myself just as I am. I am grateful.”

It can be challenging to confront our inner conflicts and acknowledge the need for change. However, like the changing of the seasons, it's a process that offers hope and renewal. Through Ho'oponopono and similar practices, we can gently and lovingly guide ourselves through the seasons of our own lives, knowing that transformation is not only possible but essential for our growth and well-being.

Ho'oponopono is more than just a cultural practice; it's a profound way of acknowledging and healing the discord within ourselves. It invites us to take responsibility for our thoughts, feelings, and actions and recognize how they impact our external reality. By embracing this practice, we embark on a journey of self-forgiveness and healing, ultimately leading to outer transformation. My special guest this week on A Dose of Positivity is James Keali’ipi’lani Kawainui, whose ancestors can be traced back in Old Hawaii over 20 generations. They were the wisdom keepers, healers, and mystics of his culture. James will share his knowledge and help us with the process of Ho'oponopono in our everyday lives.

I’m on an exciting journey in North Carolina and will broadcast A Dose of Positivity from our cabin in the hills. Kevin (my lovely hubby) and I traveled to visit Jazz and Freya (our son and darling granddaughter). We've been eagerly expecting this annual pilgrimage to the breathtaking Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains, where Nature showcases its magnificent fall colors, and the harvest fare is simply divine. These hills hold more than just scenic beauty; they cradle deep friendships that have stood the test of time. We embark on a journey to celebrate life in the company of our loved ones.

And if you can believe it, we've even snagged tickets to see Taylor Swift on the big screen in an AMC theater with our 9-year-old granddaughter. Oh, how I've changed to adapt to the seasons and the incredible joy of grand-motherhood! ❤️

Sometimes, out of my comfort zone,  it's an adventure I wouldn't miss for anything.

After spending two glorious weeks in North Carolina, we'll take the kids to the hustle and bustle of New York City. We will stay with my amazing step-mama, who lives near the Big Apple. We'll catch up with family and my old high school buddy. Did I say old? Well, let's just say we graduated from high school in 1975, so I'll leave it to you to judge the passage of time.

As Judy Collins beautifully sings, "Who Knows Where The Time Goes?"—a song that truly puts life into perspective.

While in the city that never sleeps, we'll undoubtedly explore Manhattan's iconic sights and create cherished memories with our son and our granddaughter as she gets to know her great-grandmother. It's a poignant journey that has led me to reflect on the importance of fortifying our immune systems—not just now, but always.

As we traverse these changing seasons, embracing the beauty of fall foliage and the warmth of family connections, let's not forget the invaluable gift of health. Strengthening our immune systems ensures we can revel in these precious moments with our loved ones. This precious family time enforces the importance of nurturing our well-being so we can spend many more cherished years together. As the leaves transform and the holiday season beckons, it's essential to fortify our immune systems and cherish every moment with those we hold dear.

Some points to stay healthy during the changing of the seasons.

The Current Season

Before we immerse ourselves in the world of fall, travel, socializing, and immune health, let's acknowledge our current reality. COVID-19 has profoundly influenced our lives, underscoring the importance of community and health. While the pandemic persists, the lessons we've learned about prevention, hygiene, and care for one another must guide us through the season's trials.

The Power of Socialization

Isolation and fear have lingered for far too long. Socialization, on the other hand, remains vital for our mental and emotional well-being. It's a poignant reminder that we are not alone, and within our circle of friends and family lies a deep reservoir of love and connection. In-person interactions can bring immense joy and healing to our lives.

So, how can we balance the need for socialization with the imperative of staying healthy? Here are some mindful tips and insights to help you navigate this delicate equilibrium:

Strengthening Your Immune System

The changing seasons remind us to fortify our immune systems—a task we can begin today. Here are some natural preventive remedies to bolster your immune system:

  • Nourishing Diet: Feast on a diet abundant in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. These nutrient-rich foods provide vitamins and minerals that nurture immune health.

  • Stay Hydrated: Adequate hydration aids in flushing out toxins and supports overall well-being. Sip on water throughout the day to keep your body revitalized.

  • Regular Exercise: Engage in regular physical activity to fortify your body's defenses. Exercise not only boosts your immune system but also uplifts your mental state.

  • Embrace the Outdoors: ‌Favor outdoor gatherings during this captivating fall season. The crisp air, colorful foliage, and the symphony of nature provide an enchanting backdrop for shared moments while reducing the risk of viral transmission.

  • Hygiene Practices: Continue to uphold hygiene habits—frequent handwashing and, when around others, mask-wearing if you're not feeling well.

  • Prioritize Sleep: Sleep is essential for immune function and general well-being. Aim for 7-9 hours of restorative sleep each night.

  • Stress Alleviation: Chronic stress can weaken the immune system. Dedicate time to stress-reduction practices such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises.

  • Herbal Supplements: Consult a healthcare professional about integrating immune-boosting herbs like echinacea, elderberry, or astragalus into your daily regimen. Here is a list of some immune-building supplements I use.
