Choc-Nut Fermented Oatmeal Smoothie Bowl Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup steel-cut oats
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon cacao (not cocoa) powder
  • 1 banana
  • 2 Medjool dates, pip removed

For topping:

  • Handful of blueberries
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Ferment the oats: In a bowl, combine the oats with water and vinegar. Leave the mixture at room temperature overnight to ferment.

  2. Prepare the smoothie: In the morning, put the fermented oats, almond milk, almond butter, cacao powder, banana, and Medjool dates into a blender. Process the ingredients until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency.

  3. Add toppings: Decorate your bowl with a generous handful of berries. Sprinkle a dash of cinnamon over the top for added flavor.
