Crispy Seasoned Kale Chips Recipe

Crispy Seasoned Kale Chips

Homemade kale chips that are perfectly crispy and addictively delicious. Far superior to store-bought versions, these chips can be seasoned to your preference.

Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 12-15 minutes | Serves: 2-3

Ingredients

  • 1 large bunch fresh kale (about 8 oz.), stems removed
  • 2 T. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 t. sea salt
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Optional seasonings: garlic powder, paprika, nutritional yeast, or cinnamon and sea salt

Preparation

  1. Prepare kale: Rinse kale and pat completely dry with paper towels. Remove tough center stems and tear into bite-sized pieces.

  2. Toss: Place kale in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with sea salt and pepper. Toss gently until all pieces are coated.

  3. Season: Add any optional seasonings if desired and toss again.

  4. Arrange: Spread kale pieces in a single layer on rimmed baking sheets, avoiding overlap.

  5. Bake: Bake at 300°F for 12-15 minutes until crispy and edges are lightly browned. Watch carefully to avoid burning.

  6. Cool: Remove from oven and let cool for 2 minutes on the pan (they will crisp further as they cool).

  7. Serve: Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

Notes

The key to perfect kale chips is making sure the leaves are completely dry before baking and arranging them so they don’t overlap.
