Broccoli and Bacon Quiche (Grain Free)

Perfect for a holiday breakfast, special occasion, or a delicious lunch retreated the next day.

Notes

If you can find raw or grass-fed cream and cheese, by all means, use that! “Leftover roasted broccoli is delicious in this quiche too.

Ingredients

  • 7 eggs, preferably pasture-raised or organic
  • 1 pint organic cream (not ultra-pasteurized)
  • 1/2 cup organic cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup organic smoked cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup organic jack cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup organic parmesan cheese, grated
  • 6 ounces organic or pastured bacon, cooked until crispy
  • 1 1/4 cups broccoli florets, lightly steamed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease a pie dish and set aside. Cook bacon until crispy (this takes about 20 minutes). Set aside.

  • While the broccoli is cooking, steam the broccoli for about 5 minutes. You can also do a quick sauté in the leftover bacon grease if you prefer. Set aside.

  • Pour the cheese mixture and garlic into a bowl. Whisk in the egg mixture over the egg mixture over the egg mixture through. Crumble the bacon and evenly distribute and add to the batter with dried thyme, salt and grated cheese, and broccoli. Bake for 40-50 minutes, until golden brown. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

  • Allow to cool for at least 5 minutes to set. Serve immediately or refrigerate for later.
