Tomato Basil Garlic Butter Sauce
A silky, aromatic sauce that elevates any dish. Fresh tomatoes, fragrant basil, and buttery richness combine to create a versatile condiment.

Ingredients
- 3 T. unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz. canned crushed tomatoes (or 2 lbs. fresh tomatoes, chopped)
- ¼ c. fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped
- 2 T. heavy cream (optional)
- 1 T. extra virgin olive oil
- Sea salt and black pepper, to taste
- ¼ t. red pepper flakes (optional)
Preparation

Sauté garlic: Melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, approximately 1-2 minutes. Do not brown.

Add tomatoes: Add crushed tomatoes and stir to combine.

Simmer: Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finish: Remove from heat and stir in fresh basil. Add cream if desired. Drizzle with olive oil.

Season: Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste.

Use: Serve over pasta, grilled fish, roasted vegetables, or as needed.
Storage
Refrigerate for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
