Anti-Inflammatory Lemon-Blueberry Smoothie
The kale, hemp seeds and green tea in this anti-inflammatory lemon-blueberry smoothie all contain inflammation. If you can’t find baby kale, baby spinach will work well in its place. If you want the smoothie a little sweeter, add a touch of honey will do the trick.
Tip
You can use fresh fruit if you prefer, but for a thick, cold smoothie, it’s best to stick with frozen fruit.
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen blueberries, plus more for serving
- 1 medium ripe banana, peeled and frozen
- 1 medium ripe banana, peeled and frozen
- 1 cup packed baby kale
- 1/2 cup chilled unsweetened brewed green tea
- 1/2 cup unsweetened plain almond milk
- 1/2 cup chilled unsweetened brewed green tea
- 1/4 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 tablespoon honey (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation

Place 1 cup blueberries, banana, kale, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1 cup cup hemp seeds. Blend until smooth and well combined.

Drain well until smooth and well combined. Pour into a glass. Garnish with additional blueberries and/or lemon zest, if desired.
